BIO

Janis Rogers, friends refer to her as J.R, is a progressive leader with a passion for ensuring others connect in order that they may realize the benefit of living a happy and fulfilled life. Whether in her professional career, or in a philanthropic capacity, she lives to serve others. She enjoys creating a setting where people can connect to benefit and share resources, an environment of helping others. She began this initiative with her immediate family, and this concept grew to ensuring friends and associates always engage in celebrations of life.

Janis participated in many sports, including basketball, cheerleading, and held the state of Mississippi record in track and field. Janis ran many events, but no one could ever beat her record in 440-yard dash. Janis was mentored by her oldest sister, an educator, who coached her in to moving to Michigan for a better education.

Janis received an engineering degree from Northwood Institute in Midland, Michigan. Her education enhanced her passion for automotive engineering. Janis worked very closely launching vehicles with Germany, Korea, Canada, and numerous launches in the United States. Janis was honored that she could get paid for doing something that she really loved! Janis has been a Corvette enthusiast for multiple decades and has owned twelve corvettes. She was able to strategically and financially plan to enjoy driving her first new corvette over 40 years ago. Because she is one to focus on inclusiveness and ensuring others have a progressive life’s journey, she reached out to other corvette owners as well. As a result, she was instrumental in the birth of the first ethnic corvette club in the Genesee County area of Michigan, Stingrays of Flint. This organization became one of the area’s most popular social and philanthropic organizations for many years. During her membership, Janis held many officer positions over the years including Vice-President and President. She was instrumental in ensuring this club had a presence at UCCC (United Council of Corvette Clubs) national events, where she held numerous positions on the UCCC executive board. She once again revived the concept of comradery through sharing ride outs among corvette owners in the state of Michigan. She engineered the concept of a reboot of social awareness when she started a new Corvette Club, Michigan Renegades. This group continues to remain active.

Janis devotes so much more of her time as a leader for causes in the community. She is an active member of the Renaissance Chapter of the Links Incorporated where she has served as Co-Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Committee. This group has a primary focus of ensuring our underserved youth in the community have the tools needed to become successful young leaders. Janis is a Board member for Pontiac Meals on Wheels and has worked with Pontiac Meals on Wheels for over twenty years, servicing underprivileged seniors. Janis has been instrumental in raising endless dollars to support this cause. Janis serves on the Board of Directors at Warwick Hills Condo Association.

Golfing is also a passion for Janis. She again was able to use her love of golf as a means to benefit others. She is one of the founding members of the Michigan-Florida Snowbirds, a 501C-3 golf charity supporting efforts of inclusiveness for African American youth in the sport of golfing. This event continues to grow annually and is helping to bring attention and recognition to ethnic golfing awareness nationally. Janis is the right leader for this initiative, as she has received many awards and recognition for her personal golfing achievements. Janis currently serves on the Leadership Board of the Warwick Hills Golf Club {Finance Committee} in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She uses this position as an opportunity to connect people of all backgrounds together for the greater good. Janis got her first hole in one at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in June 2024.

Janis strongly believes that to be blessed, you must be a blessing!
