Dear Friends,
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Mayberry, a cherished member of our Corvette Community and a cornerstone of the Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend, Inc. (CACW).
Marvin’s dedication and service as our Sergeant at Arms, Facebook Administrator, and Parking Lot Security Lead were instrumental in the success and cohesion of our events, where his no-nonsense approach, attention to detail, and security-minded focus ensured everything ran efficiently. Marvin’s leadership and commitment were equally evident in his role as the long-time president of the Chicago Crossroads Corvette Club. His guidance uplifted his fellow club members and peers. His positive influence earned him admiration and respect throughout the African American Corvette Clubs in Chicago and throughout the United States.
A proud United States Marine, Marvin embodied the values of honor, courage, and commitment. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he was a cherished friend known for his kindness, integrity, and generosity of spirit.
Marvin’s legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marvin’s family during this difficult time.
With heartfelt condolences,
Billy R. Brooks
